About the Business
We are a law firm founded in 2004. We have quickly built a reputation for the quality of our work. We hold the Law Society's national law management quality mark, Lexcel, and hold two legal aid contracts in the categories of mental health and community care law.
Since our inception we have brought many of the most important precedent-setting cases in the area of our practice. Recent examples include: R (MN) v. MHRT & SSHD (2007) (Examining the link between behaviour and a categorisation of mental disorder); R (SH) v. MHRT (2007) (Contesting compulsory medication for a conditionally discharged patient living in the community) and R (RD) v. MHRT & SSHD (2007) (Looking at adequacy of reasons and the proper role of the medical member of a MHRT panel).
As well as important reported cases, there are many cases where the public authorities we have sued have agreed to settle to the benefit of our client either after we have issued proceedings or sometimes beforehand.
